  • Richard Jones with Turner Construction was our guest speaker.  He provided information on OCIP and CCIP insurance and safety plans.

  • Tom Ruzicka provided a summary on the fiscal status of the CSG.

  • The National Safety Stand Down for Fall Protection is scheduled for May 4th through May 15th.  More information can be found at https://www.osha.gov/StopFallsStandDown/

  • Volunteers are needed for the National Institute for Construction Excellence I-Build Event on April 4th at Bartle Hall.  The event brings students from all school districts in the Kansas City area together for an opportunity to actively connect with construction industry professionals and highlight careers connected to the construction industry.  For more detailed information and to sign up to volunteer go to  http://nice-kc.com/?page=ibuild-

  • April 28th is Workers’ Memorial Day, a day to honor those workers who have died on the job.  The Builders’ Association will be hosting an event so please SAVE THE DATE!  Phil Shoemaker will be providing more information in the near future.

  • CSG is assisting with an OSHA 30-Hour Construction Outreach Training for UCM students on March 24th to April 9th in Warrensburg, MO.  More assistance is needed for the last date from 3pm – 8 pm.  Contact Phil Shoemaker to volunteer.

  • CSG Scholarship candidates are being interviewed at UCM on March 31, 2015 in Warrensburg and at Pittsburg State on April 22, 2015 in Pittsburg.  Contact Dave Ezell if you would like to be part of the interview process.

  • OUR NEXT MEETING DATES ARE APRIL 2, 2015 AND MAY 21, 2015 – locations to be determined.
