May 2016 Minutes
President Tom Ruzicka opened the meeting with introductions and appreciation to all in attendance. Activities at today’s meeting included:
This week is the National OSHA Fall Protection Safety Stand Down. Members were encouraged to participate by conducting a safety activity to raise awareness about fall hazards.
The CSG Financial statement was provided by Vice-President Sharon Mount. $4,500 was paid to students at Pittsburg State University for scholarships. $5,000 will be paid to students from the University of Central Missouri. Both the Scholarship fund and the General fund are very healthy with the main scholarship fundraiser (CSG Golf Tournament) still to be held this year.
The Golf Committee Meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 9th at 10:00am at the Builders Association. Anyone interested in serving as a member of this committee is encouraged to attend.
John Kinsley announced that one of his customers is looking for an expert on the new OSHA Silica Standard to assist them.
Chuck Rutledge announced that Faith Technologies has multiple positions available for Safety Professionals who are available and willing to relocate to the North.
The subject for today’s meeting was “Using Drones in Construction” and was delivered by Mr. Mike Raymond of Skycam. His presentation will be available on the CSG Website at http://www.csgkc.org.
The next meeting will be on June 2nd at Mark 1 Electric. The subject will be “Safety Leadership” by Tom Maier.
